FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced during the fourth tranche of the economic stimulus package, that the government is planning to make India a global hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). The tax regime for the MRO ecosystem has been justified. After merging the defense sector and civil MROs it will establish an economic scale and as a result cost of maintenance will decrease which will be a huge benefit for India.
