Fossil has launched a new wide range of affordable smartwatches called the Gen 5E. The new smartwatches are easier on the pocket because of their different sizes. Fossil has also launched a new 42mm dial size coupled with the 44mm dial size.
The smartwatch will be priced at $249 (roughly Rs. 18,200) for the market of the United States. Fossil has not disclosed any plans to launch the smartwatch in other markets which are slightly toned-down versions of the Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch models.
The Gen 5E smartwatch can be used by both men and women with four 42mm and three 44mm dial sizes and huge color options vary from Rose Gold to the classic black.
There are two different dial sizes in The Gen SE. The 42mm smartwatch contains a 1.19-inch round AMOLED display along with a resolution of 390 x 390p and 328ppi. There is a 300mAh battery inside the smallish dial for showing details. The Gen SE is powered by Google’s WearOS processor like Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 OS coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Fossil Gen 5E models are based on OS by Google which starts at the same price.
The 42mm dial contains stainless steel and has a gold finish as design features with which an 18mm wrist strap is attached. A wide range of band designs including the stainless steel bracelet, a silicone strap, and a mesh band can be obtained for users. The 44mm case size contains a 22mm wrist strap. For a particular dial size, a stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap can be obtained.
The Fossil smartwatch launched with Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, and WiFi support as connectivity. It also includes sensors like the accelerometer, PPG heart rate sensor, and more. The Gen 5E has a resistance of 5 ATM water.
