BookMyShow has launched its new video-on-demand platform. The platform offers over 600 movie titles and 72,000+ hours of content that users will be able to buy or rent and watch the movies offline. BookMyShow will also highlight multiple marquee premieres every Friday. This feature is a strategy of the platform to stay relevant in today’s changing time. Till theatres and cinema halls can function fully and distributors can push more theatrical releases in the country, BookMyShow video-on-demand seems to offer better service.
BookMyShow stream is a specially curated and handpicked library of over 22,000 hours of content and will provide services like World Cinema, Festival Favorites, Friday Premieres, Exclusives, Missed in Theatres, and dedicated Bundles offering multiple titles together. The stream will be available on the BookMyShow mobile app and website along with Apple TV, Android TV, Firestick, and Chromecast. BookMyShow will offer users to access features like downloads, offline viewing, and many more.
The company has partnered with Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Warner Brothers for international content and also joined hands with leading Indian production houses like Viacom18, Shemaroo, Rajshri Productions, Sillymonks, and Divo offering BookMyShow users a variety of content. BookMyShow Stream is one of the first Indian streaming platforms hosting acquired content from independent film distributors including PictureWorks, VR Films, Superfine Films, Impact Films, and Kahwa Entertainment.
New titles like Yes God Yes, Wonder Woman 1984, Tenet, The Craft : Legacy can be bought or rented at different prices. If you purchase a movie or a TV show title, you can watch the movie at any time. But if you rent it, you can stream the title for 30 days and will have only two days to watch it once the playback has started. The quality of the video is listed to be in HD and different movies and TV shows are listed at different costs, for example, Wonder Woman 1984 is Rs.799 to buy, while Yes God Yes is Rs. 549 to buy.
