Ashima Goyal, Jayanth R Varma, Shashanka Bhide become members of MPC of RBI

Three eminent economists Ashima Goyal, Jayanth R. Varma, and Shashanka Bhide were appointed by the government as members of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s rate-setting Monetary Policy Committee. The Prime Minister, head of The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), has approved the names. Following the rules of the RBI Act, the three new members were appointed to serve four-year terms.
