Out of its total fleet of 25 Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft (post-crash 24 aircraft), Air India Express is the owner of 17 aircraft (16 post-crash) and remaining eight were taken on lease. A senior insurance industry official declared to IANS that the entire amount which was claimed is paid by the airline, in case of owned aircraft. For the total loss of the Dubai-Kozhikode flight $ 50 million is claimed by Air India Express.
