Country’s Crude Oil Production Declined By 3.2 % in July to 2.5 Million Tonnes

India’s crude oil production continued its declining trend, falling by over 3 per cent in July as state-owned ONGC produced less than the target. As fuel demand rebounded, oil refineries processed more crude oil in July. At 19.4 million tonnes, crude processing in July was 9.6 per cent higher than the year-ago period.

According to data released by the ministry of petroleum and natural gas on Tuesday, the country’s crude oil production declined by 3.2 per cent in July to 2.5 million tonnes when compared with the previous year, and by 3.37 per cent in April-July to 9.9 million tonnes.




FedEx Announces $100 Million Investment In Logistics Firm Delivery In India

Delivery services giant FedEx’s subsidiary FedEx Express has pumped in $100 million in homegrown logistics and supply chain startup Delhivery. The company will transfer certain assets pertaining to its domestic business in India to Delhivery. As a part of the deal, the companies will enter into a long-term commercial agreement. FedEx Express will focus on international export and import services to and from India.

“India is a strategic priority for FedEx. This strategic alliance will support our long-term vision to grow our India business and serve customers seeking to expand in or enter the Indian market, as well as provide opportunities to develop product and technology solutions together with Delhivery for the benefit of our customers,” said Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Operating Officer of FedEx Corp.

The tech giant Amazon has launched two advanced Echo devices today in India. Echo show 10 and Echo show 5 both launched in India today. The all-new Echo devices are launched at a price of 24,999 and will be available on Amazon in the black colour option.

Realme Narzo 30 Series launched In India, Price & Specifications

Realme Narzo 30, Realme Narzo 30 5G, Realme Smart TV full-HD 32-inch, and Realme Buds Q2 are launched today in India. The Chinese company also launched the Realme Smart TV full-HD 32-inch that is teased to have thin bezels and Dolby Audio support. 

Realme Buds Q2 is also launching alongside, with an advanced active noise cancellation (ANC) feature. The company has already confirmed that Realme Narzo 30 will be “the most affordable 6 GB 5G smartphone” and the Narzo 30 4G will come with MediaTek Helio G95 chipset “at a never before seen price point”.

KKR Firm Invested $625 Million For Controlling Stake In Fogg

International investment firm KKR has invested $625 million for a controlling stake in personal care and beauty company Vini Cosmetics. Vini is known for making the famous deodorant named Fogg, and other worldwide known brands such as OSSUM, GlamUp, and more. Existing investor WestBridge Capital will obtain a further stake in the group to expand its shareholding in Vini.

Sequoia Capital will sell a majority stake in the company to KKR for approximately $625 million. “The co-founders will continue to hold a significant stake in Vini and collaborate with KKR in the next phase of the company’s growth,” stated Vini Cosmetics.

“Upon completion of the transaction, the co-founders and WestBridge Capital will continue to hold a significant position in Vini. Darshan Patel will continue as the Chairman of Vini’s board and Dipam Patel will be appointed as Vice Chairman of the board,” the company said in a statement.

Customs Confiscates 8 kg Of Peacock Feathers In Delhi, That Were Being Smuggled To Hong Kong

On Wednesday Around 8 kg of peacock feathers, that were being smuggled to Hong Kong, were seized at the Foreign Post Office in New Delhi, the Delhi customs zone said.

The peacock is the national bird of India and it is protected under Schedule-I of the Wild Life (Protection) Act that prohibits its hunting It covers endangered species that need rigorous protection. And The species are granted protection from poaching, killing, trading etc. A person is liable to the harshest penalties for violation of the law under this Schedule Act.

The Air Cargo Commissionerate (Export) seized 10 unregistered parcels destined to Hong Kong containing peacock feathers weighing approx 8 kg at Foreign Post Office, New Delhi, it tweeted.




Edible Oil Prices Started Falling And The Quantum Of Decline Around 20% In Some Cases.

On Wednesday The government said edible oil prices have started falling in the past one month, and the quantum of decline is nearly 20 per cent in some cases.

Stating that India imports a significant quantity of edible oils to meet domestic demand, the Centre said it is working on a “series of mid-and long-term measures” to make the country self-sufficient.

“Edible oil prices in India are showing a declining trend across a wide array of oils. As per data from the Department of Consumer Affairs, over the past month, the prices of edible oils are now coming down,” an official statement said.




Twitter lost Its legal Indemnity In India: Failure To Comply With The New IT Rules

Microblogging platform Twitter has lost its legal indemnity in India because of its failure to comply with the new IT rules. The new rules required social media platforms to appoint key officers in the country. The loss of indemnity was highlighted on Tuesday after a case was filed against the social media giant over a viral video.

Government sources said that the platform is set to lose its intermediary status. Twitter is the only social media platform to not adhere to the rules, sources said. “Twitter to lose its status as an intermediary platform in India as it does not comply with new guidelines, it is the only social media platform among mainstream that has not adhered to new laws,” government sources said to news agency ANI. This means that Twitter is liable for penal actions as per Indian law.

“We are keeping the MeitY apprised of the progress at every step of the process. An interim Chief Compliance Officer has been retained and details will be shared with the Ministry directly soon. Twitter continues to make every effort to comply with the new Guidelines,” said a Twitter spokesperson on the development.
