New MSME definition may deprive smaller players

The decision to give a new definition of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is taking a higher turnover as for grouping them has evoked mixed reactions from industry and trade companies. As in contrast, some of the sectors are feeling that the addition of some more firms in MSMEs sectors would create crowds out the real small-scale manufacturers and their chances of availing concessional loans and benefits from government schemes will be less.
