Distributing the vaccines in India’s mass may be a daunting task

When the COVID-19 began to spread, most countries were trying to protect gear and medical equipment. Serum Institute of India (SII) alone is the manufacturer of more than 1.5 billion doses every year and is expected to generate 1 billion doses of the pandemic vaccine by 2021. It won’t be easy to fill such deficits given that most of the private sector cold chain network is concentrated in the bigger cities and towns, said Gagandeep Kang, a virologist at the Christian Medical Centre, Vellore.
